Parenting Plus Program

Skills and Support for Parents and Caregivers of Children Ages 0–17

The Parenting Plus Program is a 12-week class designed for parents, foster parents, grandparents, guardians, and childcare providers who are seeking support in managing common parenting challenges. The program is appropriate for anyone raising children, including those involved with DCFS, the court system, or probation services.

Common Topics Addressed

The program may be helpful if you are experiencing any of the following:

Children not following directions

Conflicts around homework, chores, or bedtime routines

Sibling rivalry or frequent arguments

9

Repeating yourself without results

9

General concerns about communication and discipline

Structure and Participation

The course takes place over 12 weeks at our Rockford office. On-line sessions are also available.

In some sessions, eligible children may participate alongside their caregivers to allow for skill-building in a guided setting. Observational home visits may also be offered, when appropriate, to support application of program strategies.

Cost and Eligibility

The Parenting Plus Program may be offered at no cost to eligible participants, and a sliding fee scale is available. Please contact us directly to discuss your eligibility and payment options.
