A 24 hour crisis intervention program which provides services to runaway youth and youth that are locked out of their homes or refuse to return home. Temporary foster care may be used as well as mediation and short term counseling. (Available in LaSalle, Putnam, Bureau, Stark and Marshall counties)

What You Can Expect a YSB Worker to Provide and do:
Provide counseling targeting specific issues such as:
- peer relationships
- school adjustment
- self esteem
- decision making
- family communication
- alcohol and drug prevention
Listen to parent and child concerns and make recommendations.
Make referrals to other agencies when needed.
Work with schools and other agencies to insure the needs of the child are being served.
In Order to Best Serve You, You Should Be Aware of the Following:
You have the right to expect that staff will utilize all of his/her professional expertise in working with you.
You have the right to participate in the development of a service plan. You have the right to request a review of the plan at any time.
You have the right to confidentiality. The Youth Service Bureau of Illinois Valley and staff agree to not disclose any of your records without your written consent. Law requires the exception of this right when you are deemed to be dangerous to yourself or others.
You have the right to review your records. You should understand that the counselor may consult with other YSB staff members for assistance.
You have the right to cancel a scheduled appointment for a good cause. We do request a 24 hour notice.
