Open Positions:

Child Welfare and Visitation Monitor – Full-Time/Part-Time, Aurora, Rockford

Both Part-Time and Full-Time positions open. Provides transportation for clients and supervises family visits as directed by the Foster Care Supervisor. Contacts parents/foster parents regarding appointments and visits and contacts other parties as necessary for transportation and visits. This role requires a clean driving record. Must be able to maintain a sensitivity and responsiveness to the cultural differences of individuals and families’ in-groups outside of one’s own. High school Diploma required.

Family Finding Resource and Recruitment Specialist — Full-Time, Aurora

This position will do research to find kin homes for foster children. This will include going out into the public and asking the children questions to get as much information as they can in effort to find a relative. Responsible for extensive research, investigation, and outreach in locating absentee parents/guardians. This role also utilizes a family-centered approach that focuses on positive strengths, as well as being able to engage the youth, birth parents, family and social connections, foster parents, and staff to facilitate and support the stability and permanency for youth. Works closely with permanency achievement specialist and the assigned case worker. Must have bachelor’s degree in social work or other human service-related field.

Foster Care Case Manager — Full-Time, Aurora

Case Managers carry cases for foster care. They must possess the ability to engage with diverse families, obtain good oral and written communication skills, a valid driver’s license, be able to pass all background checks, maintain professional and working relationships with service providers, court personnel, and DCFS staff. Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure at times. Have knowledge of computer skills and the ability to be on call at times. Including evenings, nights, and some Saturdays, in potentially high-risk neighborhoods. Maintaining up-to-date documentation per agency and DCFS requirements and the ethical/professional standards. Bachelor’s degree in human services or another related field.

Intact Caseworker — Full-Time, Aurora

Bachelor in social work from an accredited program/school of social work, plus 2 years of subsequent experience with children and families, or a bachelor’s degree in a field related to social work and 3 years of experience with children and families. A passing grade on DCFS licensing exam. Computer knowledge including proficient knowledge of Microsoft office (word, excel and access) and keyboarding. Sensitivity and responsiveness to the cultural differences of individuals and families in groups outside one’s own. Responsible for providing individual, parent and family support services to clients that include education, teaching, and modeling of skills in parenting, childcare, communication and household management.

Adolescent Mentor — Part-Time, Aurora

High School Diploma with preferred college courses in social services. Sensitivity and responsiveness to the cultural differences of individuals and families outside one’s own. Must have a valid driver’s license and insurance and be willing to drive to the child’s location. Part-time role (approximately 3 days/week) with a flexible schedule. This person will act as a mentor to the adolescent in DCFS care, give them guidance on applying for employment, higher education, discuss safe-sex practices, and work on life-skills using the “Casey-Life Skills Assessment”.

Child and Family Team Meeting Facilitator — Full-Time, Aurora

Master’s degree in social work, psychology, education or related field. Previous experience and knowledge of Child Welfare and Licensure processes a MUST. Sensitivity and responsiveness to the cultural differences of individuals and families in groups outside one’s own. Responsible for overseeing Child and Family Team Meetings (CFTMs), and part-time Adolescent Mentor role. Important this person supports agency goals/mission and is good at developing and maintaining relationships.

Administrative Support for Parent Education Program — Part-Time, Rockford

Associate or bachelor’s degree, with clerical experience. Basic knowledge of social services with strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to work with others. Will consider high school education with demonstrated experience. This person provides administrative support to the Parenting program, which includes but is not limited to: managing case documentation, filing, coordinating class schedules, and performing various clerical functions to aid workers in delivering effective support to families involved in the child-welfare system.
